Jacek reduced his stress and improved his sleep

as a parent of a newborn child.


Although Jacek doesn’t normally have difficulty sleeping, he does when he’s more stressed out than usual. High stress tends to create issues falling and staying asleep, and a negative cycle begins.

Add a toddler and a newborn baby to this equation, and you find yourself taking a walk in Jacek’s shoes.

What was the goal or challenge in your life that you came to Reveri for as a potential solution?

“After listening to The Huberman Lab Podcast episode about sleep in 2022, I joined the Reveri Android waitlist (the Android app was in development at the time). I wanted to fight stress, and with two little kids, it’s really hard to find the time.”

Jacek describes the ebbs and flows of life; as someone living in eastern Europe, there’s been a series of stressful events beyond his control taking their toll on his mental health. “I had a bigger issue with stress during the COVID pandemic and so many lockdowns. Just before the war in Ukraine, I was really stressed out. There were a lot of stressful things going on in my life, which cost me a lot of time and energy. Just as I worked through it last year, my second child was born.” All parents know that newborn babies are paradoxical in that they are major sources of joy and stress at the same time.

We all have a limit. Some people appear to be able to handle more than others at a given time. Regardless of a person’s ability to manage stress organically, their natural threshold exists. “I was not in a bad place, but I felt like if something were to go wrong, I would start spiraling downward,” Jacek reflected about that period in his life.

“I knew I would not find enough time for meditation, so I needed something quick and accessible. I really like that Reveri’s hypnosis sessions are so quick. If I have a five-minute break at work, I can do an exercise. Almost every time, I notice a positive difference.”

Which exercises have you benefitted from most?

“Sometimes when I’m stressed out, it can take 30 or 40 minutes to fall asleep. The longer it takes, the more stressed I become, which can delay the process even further.”

Jacek smiles as he says, “It’s amazing that when I do the Improve Sleep exercise, I almost always fall asleep within a couple minutes, before the session even finishes.”

Mind your Body was also an interesting experience for Jacek. He used this Quick Relief session before a presentation at work that he was feeling anxious about. It helped him get out of his head, calm his nerves, and feel more confident. He likes to revisit this session regularly for similar situations.

“Reveri gives me the confidence that I now have the tools and skills I need to help me deal with stress, and ultimately, sleep better.”

In the time since you started using Reveri, what is the biggest learning that has happened for you?

“I started using Reveri right after the Android app launched in October 2022. Now I know I can control my mind and get into a relaxed state quickly. I know this state is available to me, and it makes life easier. Even if I know I’ll be in a stressful situation, I know I have a skill and tool I can use.

Without Reveri, Jacek says he would get less sleep and be more stressed. He would have hit his stress threshold several times.

If you could share one thing with others who want to achieve the same thing as you did, what would be the most important thing to know?

“You can deal with this. There are tools, and it is possible. That’s the amazing thing — it’s actually so easy…”

“You don’t have to practice meditation for months or spend a lot of time working at this.”

Why did you decide to try Reveri?

“In part, due to curiosity. Hypnosis has a negative stigma in this part of the world, and I wanted to see what it was about. The other reason why I tried it is because it’s low risk. I didn’t have anything to lose.”

Reveri exists to make self-hypnosis mainstream. How do you think that mission will benefit the world?

After pondering the question for a moment, Jacek says, “Reveri is brave to do what they are doing, because of the stigma around hypnosis stemming from stage hypnosis. Now, I know how it works, and I think it could have a very big impact on the world, because people will realize they can sleep better, be more relaxed… all of this is available to you. There are other major objectives people may have beyond this, like eating better and quitting smoking, that you can achieve with hypnosis. Making hypnosis mainstream will benefit the world by helping more people achieve these important goals.”
